Ebb Software’s Scorn, a first-person horror adventure game, will be released on Xbox Series X, Microsoft announced during its Inside Xbox presentation Thursday. The game was revealed via its Kickstarter campaign in 2014. It also received private funding from Kowloon Nights.

As shown in the new trailer, Scorn is expected to be set in “a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry,” according to a news release. That’s certainly true; the trailer is (literally) dripping with disturbing and absolutely not subtle imagery. According to the developer, “the unsettling environment is a character itself,” and each environment’s got it’s own story and puzzles that tie into the “cohesive world.”

Clearly, it’s inspired by painter H.R. Giger, known for his science fiction imagery and design work for Alien.
