Zelda: Breath of the Wild guide: Kah Mael shrine location, treasure and puzzle solutions

Drop and rise

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s shrines are a familiar new twist on the dungeons that have been winding their way through Nintendo’s storied franchise for decades. In this guide, we’ll teach you about Kah Mael shrine: what it is, how to get there, how to solve its puzzles and collect all of its treasure chests.

How to find Kah Mael shrine

Kah Mael shrine is located in northwestern Hyrule, in the Lanayru Tower region, on Tingel Island. (Browse the gallery above for the precise location.)

How to solve the Kah Mael shrine puzzles and find the treasure chests

Kah Mael shrine is hidden underneath a large slate. You can either use stasis and wack it with your weapon, or (because it’s more fun) place an octo balloon on the slate, and watch it fly up and away.

  1. Walk up the short ramp and onto the right side of the scale.
  2. Use your bow and arrow to shoot the ropes on the opposite side of the room holding up the large metal cube.
  3. When the cube lands and you fly up into the air, deploy your paraglider and glide to the treasure chest on the platform to collect a diamond. (If you miss, just use magnesis pick up the cube and repeat the process.)
  4. Use magnesis to pick up the cube, and paraglide onto the platform, meet Koh Mael, and collect your spirit orb.
