The Reach Zora’s Domain main quest in Breath of the Wild begins with a cutscene and the introduction of a character at a bridge by Lanaryu Tower. In this guide, we’ll show you where to go to trigger the quest and offer you tips for completing it.
How to get the Reach Zora's Domain quest
The path to Zora’s Domain runs along a road that follows the Zora River. The easiest way to get there is to start at Lanaryu Tower. In the images above, you can see the area you’re going to travel through from atop of the tower.
In short, head from the Lanaryu Tower to Inogo Bridge, which is just north on the map. When you arrive, you’ll meet Sidon, who triggers the Reach Zora's Domain quest. And then you’ll follow the path highlighted on the map above.
Surviving the road to Zora’s Domain
Reaching Zora’s Domain isn’t complicated or terribly difficult. There’s one road to travel, and though you’ll meet resistance along the way, it won’t be crushing.
It is, on the other hand, quite long and filled with enemies. Here are the big things to look for and some advice on how to prepare:
- Make sure you’re stocked with plenty of standard arrows, because you will run into Oktoroks. They hide beneath the surface of the water, hop out and spit rocks at you. The best defense here is a good offense, and the best offense is arrows. Pull out your bow, strafe to avoid incoming fire, and unleash your attack.
- Beginning in Tabahl Woods, you’ll start encountering Lizalfos (lizard) archers. Again, the best offense lies with your bow and arrow. As a bonus, killing archers will get you more arrows.
- When you encounter a boulder blocking your way, use stasis to dislodge it.
- Collect every stinking horn and claw and other weird monster part you find. There’s no worry about item limits, and you can use them to create elixirs (check out our guide guide to cooking in Breath of the Wild for more) or you can just hoard them and sell them later for rupees.
Just keep walking up the road, and you’ll eventually reach your destination. The Reach Zora’s Domain main quest ends when you reach King Dorephan’s throne room.
Also keep in mind that you can find Ne'ez Yohma shrine in the middle of Zora’s Domain. If you interact with it before speaking to King Dorephan, you’ll create a fast travel waypoint directly to Zora’s Domain.
