Trial of the Sword: Middle Trials: Underground Floor 13 is a battle between you and three guardians in the in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s The Master Trials DLC. In the video above, you’ll see how we approached Middle Trials: Underground Floor 13.
In short, there are three things to do to ensure success:
- Use stasis, ice and electric arrows to freeze the guardians momentarily. This allows you take them on one at a time or run way to collect your thoughts.
- Use the thunderstorm rod that you collected from the hinox in Middle Trials: Underground Floor 10 for a shocking amount of damage.
- Use any guardian weapons you have against your enemies.
In fact, doing those things makes the guardians trivial to defeat.

After defeating the guardians, equip magnesis and head to the largest of the platforms scattered throughout the floor. As you can see in the gallery above, you’ll be able to dislodge a section. Inside you’ll find a treasure chest with a duplex bow, which fires two arrows at once. (Thanks to Polygon reader Kyle for the tip!)
A NOTE ON TRIAL OF THE SWORD’S CRATES AND BARRELS
Before you leave any Underground Floor, make sure you smash or burn every crate and barrel you see. The contents are (mostly) random, but you might fight find arrows (alone, in bundles or even special ammo like fire arrows) as well as food like apples, fleet lotus seeds, mighty bananas, palm fruit, wildberries and a variety of mushrooms.
