Throughout The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, you’ll find mysterious Goddess Cubes. When each of these cubes is hit with a powered-up strike from your sword, they zip into the air and unlock a reward inside a chest elsewhere in the world. There are 27 Goddess Cubes in the game.

Deep Woods Goddess Cubes

There are three Goddess Cubes in Deep Woods.

Goddess Cube 1

As you first enter the Deep Woods, you’ll eventually come across Gorko. He’ll explain the legend of the Goddess Cubes by reciting:

Summon forth the light from a heavenly blade, and may that sword’s master receive aid.

Raise your sword to the sky, and strike the cube with a Skyward Strike. From there, it will float into the sky.

Reward: This will unlock an Adventure Pouch Upgrade. You can find the chest outside on the right side of the Lumpy Pumpkin.

Goddess Cube 2

You can find this cube right after the first one. It’s to the left of the walkway leading to the Skyview Temple.

Reward: This unlocks the second Piece of Heart in the Sky, just south of the sky entrance to Faron Woods.

Goddess Cube 3

After you get the Clawshot, head to the Forest Temple bird statue that puts you right in front of the entrance of Skyview Temple.

On the eastern side of the temple are some vines. Use the Clawshot to climb up the ledge. Walk along the edge toward the south to find more vines. Use the Clawshot again to get on top of the temple entrance where you’ll find a Goddess Cube.


Skyview Spring Goddess Cube

There is one Goddess Cube in Skyview Spring.

Goddess Cube 1

After your first boss encounter with Demon Lord Ghirahim in Skyview Temple, you’ll visit Skyview Spring. In this area, there’s a large Goddess Statue. Directly behind this statue is a Goddess Cube.

Reward: A chest containing 300 rupees appears on top of The Lumpy Pumpkin.


Eldin Volcano Goddess Cubes

There are six Goddess Cubes in Eldin Volcano.

Goddess Cube 1

Turn left after you walk out of the starting area of the map to find the cube on a small landing below you.

Goddess Cube 2

In the area right after you learn about bomb flowers, you’ll find a new area with a bird statue. Continue on the path forward and you’ll find a Goddess Cube around the corner near a wall.

Goddess Cube 3

After you roll a bomb over a bone bridge to lower the flow of lava, you’ll make a path to enter into a volcano.

Go to the area that was revealed by the lava to find two air flows that will let you use your Sailcloth to land on a metal platform inside the volcano.

Once you land on the platform before heading down, look into the volcano. You’ll see a Goddess Cube down there. As you dive down, control your descent so you land above the cube.

Goddess Cube 4

To the west of the entrance of the Earth Temple is a small corner where you’ll find a diggable hole and a small patch of water. Use your mitts to dig into the hole and reveal a wind geyser. Grab a nearby bomb flower and throw it into the geyser.

The bomb will travel up the wind geyser, destroying some rocks. Take the wind geyser up to find a Goddess Cube on the cliff above you.

Goddess Cube 5

To the east of the entrance to the Earth Temple is a bokoblin village. Further east, you’ll find a path leading downward behind the village. At the bottom of the path is a Goddess Cube.

Goddess Cube 6

In the northeast of Eldin Volcano, there is an area where you have to run through a very hot section with two paths: one to the left and right. Run toward the right, and you’ll immediately enter an area with a sand slide.

As you begin sliding down the sand, you’ll see two rock pillars. Slide toward the one on the left. Below will be an air geyser that will shoot you to the top of the pillar. Just ahead will be another pillar with a Goddess Cube.


Lanayru Mine Goddess Cube

There is one Goddess Cube in Lanayru Mine.

Goddess Cube 1

Once you land in the Lanaryu Mines, descend the platform and head south. You’ll find a Goddess Cube among the rocks.


Lanayru Desert Goddess Cubes

There are three Goddess Cubes in the main area of the Lanayru Desert.

Goddess Cube 1

Right after receiving the Hook Beetle upgrade, head to the western part of the Lanayru Desert. There are two Ampilus among the quicksand there. Take out both of them using the Hook Beetle and nearby bombs.

After defeating the second Ampilus, use its shell as a platform to reach the Goddess Cube against the southern wall in this area.

Goddess Cube 2

Once you get the Clawshot, head to the northeast part of the desert where the blue marker is along the east wall.

If you stand along the wall pictured above, you can see a Goddess Cube in the distance and a wall that can be destroyed by a bomb. Break through the wall and follow the path along the top of the desert.

When you emerge from the tunnel, use your Clawshot to grab onto the wall. Then continue bouncing from each target to cross over a long pit of quicksand. Once you can land on a cliff, drop down and follow the small path to the Goddess Cube.

Goddess Cube 3

Use the map above and find a Clawshot target where the blue marker is located. Climb up the wall and follow the path to where Link is to find a Goddess Cube.


Temple of Time Goddess Cube

There is one Goddess Cube in the Temple of Time region of Lanayru Desert.

In the northwest region of the Temple of Time area of the Lanayru Desert, there is a minecart pushed up against a wall. Ahead of the minecart is a Goddess Cube on a small cliff. Directly below that is a Timeshift Stone that you can hit to reveal a track leading up to the cube.

When you activate the stone and try to ride the mine cart, a robot in front of a cart halts your movement. To move the robot, you need to find another Timeshift Stone.

Head south a bit, and then turn around. You’ll see a bomb flower on a cactus right next to two pillars. Each pillar has a pile of rocks that can be destroyed with a bomb carried by your Hook Beetle. Destroying the one to your left reveals another Timeshift Stone.

Activate this second Timeshift Stone, which will revise the robot and two enemies. Defeat the monsters, and then talk to the robot. It will move out of the way, allowing you to get on the cart. Ride the cart to move it forward. Then hit the Timeshift Stone under the Goddess Cube to reveal a path up the cube. As you pass by the cube, hit it with a Skyward Strike.


Lanayru Sand Sea Goddess Cubes

There is one Goddess Cube in the Lanayru Sand Sea region of the Lanayru Desert.

In the northern shipyard area, you can get up on a pile of boxes where the blue marker is. From that vantage point, you’ll see a Clawshot target that will allow you to zip over a few more boxes.

On the other side is a cave filled with Aracha and a Goddess Cube.


Faron Woods Goddess Cubes

There are three Goddess Cubes in Faron Woods. All of them require you to have the Water Dragon’s Scale, which you receive for completing Farore’s Silent Realm.

Enter this body of water located at the south of the Great Tree in the heart of Faron Woods. Dive underwater, swim into a hole located in the tree, and follow the linear path until you exit into a small pool inside the tree itself.

Inside the tree, you’ll find hanging bridges that lead to an exit. To move across the bridges, use your Gust Bellows to swing the bridges back and forth. Exit out of the tree to find paths to the Goddess Cubes in Faron Woods.

To get to the Goddess Cubes in Faron Woods, you’ll need to reach this exit first. Then you have to keep climbing higher and higher to reach all three cubes.

Goddess Cube 1

After immediately exiting the inside of the tree, turn left to find a Goddess Cube.

To get this cube, you have to jump down toward it. That means to get the other Goddess Cubes, you’ll have to swim through the tree again and exit from inside the inner pool.

Goddess Cube 2

After exiting the inner pool of the Great Tree in Faron Wood, keep climbing up. As you round a corner, you’ll see a Goddess Cube on a branch in the distance.

Once you see the Goddess Cube, turn to your left and climb the vines next to you and continue ascending. You may need to use your slingshot to dispatch a handful of spiders and a beehive among the vines. After scaling the vines, enter the hole that leads you back into the tree.

This new area of the tree has a Wooden Shield Moblin blocking your path to an exit. Destroy its shield, and the creature will begin attacking you. Your sword won’t do much damage to its large belly, and swipes from the monster can knock you off the platform. Wait for the Moblin to take attack you, then run around it to exit the tree.

Once outside, run around the platform and you’ll find the Goddess Cube below. You’ll have to take out a group of bokoblin waiting around the bend before you can safely make your jump down below.

Dive off the edge and activate your Sailcloth before hitting the tree branch. If mess up this jump, you’ll land in the water below and you’ll have to scale the tree again.

Goddess Cube 3

For the final Goddess Cube in Faron Wood, you have to scale the very top of the Great Tree. Right before the section where you meet the sleeping Kikwi who tells you about Lake Floria, you’ll see a section that sticks out of the Great Tree.

Look over the edge, and you’ll see a Goddess Cube on one of two platforms behind Bucha, the large Kikwi.

Hang from the spot pictured above, drop, and you’ll land right next to the mushroom near the edge of the platform. Then walk across the tight rope to get to the Goddess Cube.


Lake Floria Goddess Cubes

There are two Goddess Cubes in Lake Floria.

Goddess Cube 1

After you use a spin jump to leap out of the water onto solid ground at the beginning of Lake Floria, you’ll run into a bird statue. Backtrack along the ground to find a Goddess Cube just southwest of the save point.

Goddess Cube 2

Right next to the Floria Waterfall bird statue is a cube hidden above it. You’ll need the Clawshot to get it.

Face the bird statue and turn around. Above you are vines you can grab with the Clawshot. Climb up there to find a Goddess Cube.


Skipper’s Retreat Goddess Cube

There is one Goddess Cube in Skipper’s Retreat area of the Lanayru Desert.

As you ascend the pillars in Skipper’s Retreat, you’ll go past a Moblin with a shield on a bridge. At the other end is a Quadro Baba near the edge of a cliff. Look left and you’ll see pale vines on pillars you can climb where the blue marker is above.

Use your Clawshot to grab onto the vines. Climb up the first pillar then use your Clawshot again to jump to the other pillar with the Goddess Cube.


Pirate Stronghold Goddess Cube

There is one Goddess Cube at the Pirate Stronghold.

After placing the Timeshift Orb inside the Pirate Stronghold, exit the building. From the entrance, turn around to find a Clawshot target above the front door. Use that target to travel to another target which brings you to the roof of the stronghold where a Goddess Cube waits.


Volcano Summit Goddess Cubes

There are three Goddess Cubes at the Volcano Summit.

Goddess Cube 1

In the area of the Volcano Summit where you need to get water for the frog statues, there is a cliff on the north side you can dive off of. Behind the pillars is a platform with a Goddess Cube you cannot fully see from your vantage point.

Jump off the cliff and glide to the left to swing around the long rock pillar. As you glide around, you’ll see the platform come into view with the Goddess Cube on it.

Goddess Cube 2

After you find yourself unable to enter the Fire Sanctuary and need to find a big container, head to the room to the left of the bird statue in front of the entrance. Climb up a window and use your Clawshot to grab onto some vines on a pillar.

Keep climbing across the pillars with your Clawshot until you find a pillar with a Lizalfos. Defeat it and you will see a cliff with more vines and a Goddess Cube behind the small battle arena.

Goddess Cube 3

Once you’ve reclaimed all of your gear in the Volcano Summit, you’ll head east to meet the Fire Dragon Eldin. On the way, you’ll need to ride a stone raft across some lava.

You’ll float right past this Goddess Cube. The timing is a little tricky, though, so it might take a couple of tries.


Lanayru Gorge Goddess Cube

There is one Goddess Cube in Lanayru Gorge.

After you’ve escorted the Timeshift Stone in its cart around the entire Lanayru Gorge loop, you’ll need to head northeast to claim the Life Tree Seedling.

Blow the sand from the piles near the tree, and hit the Timeshift Stone on the tiny mesa. You’ll see this Goddess Cube on the ground to the southeast.
