After placing the Ruby Tablet in the Chamber of the Goddess, a concerned woman named Wryna will be waiting outside its entrance. She’ll inform you that her daughter has gone missing somewhere in Skyloft. You can speak to several villagers to find her whereabouts. Once you find Kukiel, you can begin looking for Gratitude Crystals.

Polygon’s guide on how to find Kukiel in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will show you detailed maps to find all the villagers to have clues on where to find Kukiel. This guide will also explain how to find Wyrna’s missing daughter.

Kukiel’s location clues

Several people around Skyloft will have information on Kukiel’s whereabouts. Finding each one gets you one step closer to finding the missing child.

Clue #1

On the southeast side of Skyloft, is a woman with two brown ponytails and a white and red top named Orielle.

She mentions that a child who was playing near the graveyard has gone missing. She then asks if you think monsters might be abducting children. Tell her you do believe monsters are kidnapping children and she’ll mention that an old man has been talking about hidden monsters in the village. This man can be found at the Lumpy Pumpkin, just east of Skyloft.

Clue #2

When you enter the Lumpy Pumpkin, you’ll find a man at a table with a light brown beard and a dialog bubble over his head.

The old man’s name is Rusta and when he asks you if believe in monsters or in this case, a demon. Tell him that you do. He’ll tell you that you can encounter the demon by walking by the big tree in the cemetery at night. The old man also informs you that the monster made the gravestone nearest to the tree light up by hitting it. Afterward, it pushed the gravestone, which opened up a door to a nearby storage shed.

Graveyard at night

To activate the secret entrance in the graveyard, you need to go there at night. Head back to the Knight Academy and go to your bedroom on the first floor and sleep until nighttime. Once it’s night, head to the second floor of the academy to exit the building.

From there, make your way to the graveyard and remember Rusta’s clues: you must hit the gravestone nearest to the tree in the graveyard.

Demon Hideout

After descending the ladder in the shed, you’ll find a wooden bridge under Skyloft. Follow it down to find the demon’s lair.

Inside the lair, you’ll encounter the creature responsible for Kukiel’s disappearance ... and he’s really nice monster named Batreaux? So nice in fact, he tells you about Gratitude Crystals. With enough of these items, you may be able to turn the monster into a human.

Once you’re done talking to him, you’ll find Kukiel on the left side of the room. Speak with her and she’ll tell you that you can let her mother know she’s safe.
