After completing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD’s Lanayru Mining Facility dungeon, Impa (and Zelda) will tell you to head for the Sealed Grounds in Faron Woods.
In this Skyward Sword HD The Imprisoned boss fight walkthrough, we’ll guide you through learning how to use the Goddess’s Harp and fighting The Imprisoned in the Sealed Grounds of Faron Woods. We’ll give you tips for defeating The Imprisoned quickly, and then help you find your first Gossip Stone.

Head for Faron Woods and dive through the hole in the clouds. You won’t have to pick your destination this time.
After a long cutscene, you’ll land to the east of the Sealed Temple. Head inside for another long cutscene.

You’ll learn to use the Goddess’s Harp for a while, and then the real fun will start.
The Imprisoned boss fight
Once you get control of Link, run forward and drop all the way to the bottom of the Sealed Grounds.

The Imprisoned is a huge, intimidating monster, but you are really only fighting a tiny part — its eight toes. There are three on the front of each foot and one on the backs.
Focus on one foot at a time. When you remove all the toes on one foot, it’ll drag and slow down The Imprisoned.

When you destroy all eight toes, and The Imprisoned will fall backward. Sprint around to its head, and deliver three upward strikes to the spike in its head.
After three hits, it’ll flip over and start squirming along its belly, rushing up the ramp.

Sprint to the center of the Sealed Grounds. The air vent in the very center will launch you a long way upward. As you free fall back down, aim to land in front of The Imprisoned.
Eventually, it’ll stand up and regrow its toes.
Repeat the same process to destroy all eight toes and drive the spike back into its head.
It’ll flip over and rush up the ramp again. Once again, drop down and use the big air vent in the very center of the Sealed Grounds.

Land in front of it one last time and wait for it to stand up again. The only difference in this final iteration is that The Imprisoned will send out a blast of energy each time its foot lands.
Finish the process with three more upward strikes to the spike.

Once The Imprisoned disappears, run down to the center of the Sealed Grounds again. Deliver a Skyward Strike to the spike. This time, you’ll have to add a little extra — match the three strokes to form the triangle you see on screen.
Back inside the Sealed Temple, The Old One will tell you to head to Skyloft to find help. You can’t return to the sky from the nearby bird statue, though, so there’s one more step.
Gossip Stone

Exit through the side door of the Sealed Temple and head east — back to where you first landed. Speak to Gorko. Play the Goddess’s Harp near the butterflies he’s watching to reveal a Gossip Stone.
Use the bird statue in that same clearing to return to the sky and head back to Skyloft.
