Trial Gate

Drop into Faron Woods near the Viewing Platform bird statue.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741755/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_1.jpg)
Use dowsing there, and you’ll see that the Trial Gate you’re looking for is right in front of the temple.
Jump down to the bare patch of ground and play the Goddess’s Harp.
Fi will help you through activating the gate.
Farore’s Silent Realm
In the Silent Realm, you’ll have to fill your Spirit Vessel with 15 Tears of Farore. But you have to do it without getting spotted.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741759/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_3.jpg)
Luckily, there are also Light Fruits that will guide you to the Tears of Farore.
None of them are particularly hard to reach, so we’ll show the path with a map, marking the locations of each Tear of Farore you’ll collect.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22740685/Skyward_Sword_Farore_Silent_Realm_map.png)
Your path will take you past many Light Fruits that will guide you to each Tear with a pillar of light. Collect any you pass as you follow the route above.
Once you have collected all 15 Tears of Farore, return to the starting point. You’ll receive the Water Dragon’s Scale.
Inside the Great Tree
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22740904/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Farores_Silent_Realm_map_1.png)
Hop into the water to the southeast of the Great Tree (that huge tree near the Viewing Platform).
Dive underwater, and swim through the tunnel you find there.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741760/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_4.jpg)
On the other end, climb the vines out of the water, and then jump to the first platform. Use the Gust Bellows to swing the platform, and then jump across. Repeat this process on the second platform, and head through the tunnel to exit.
Outside, turn left and start climbing the platforms. Keep following the vines and platforms as they switchback to the left. You’ll eventually come to another tunnel into the Tree. Head inside again.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741761/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_6.jpg)
Inside, you’ll face off against a Moblin carrying a shield on a narrow bridge. A Shield Bash to parry his spear attack works well to stun him, allowing you to get in several hits and start hacking away at his shield. Once he’s defeated, continue back outside.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741775/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_7.jpg)
Visit the Great Tree bird statue, and climb all the way to the top of the Tree. At the topmost platform, turn right and slingshot the sleeping Kikwi, Yerbal. He’ll tell you how to unlock the gate in the south.
He’ll also tell you to head to the Viewing Platform temple first to look for a symbol — you’ve probably run across it a few times (and the symbol isn’t hard to guess), so heading there is optional.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741767/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_9.jpg)
Also, we’ve included a picture of it here.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22740906/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Farores_Silent_Realm_map_2.png)
Head all the way to the south.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741768/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_11.jpg)
When you reach the gate, raise your sword as if you were doing a Skyward Strike and approach the gate. Use your sword to draw in a dot to match the symbol. At the end of the stone walkway, jump into the water.
Lake Floria
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741601/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_7.png)
Swim along the path until a small waterfall dumps you into Lake Floria.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741770/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_12.jpg)
A Parella named Jellyf will spot you and flee. Chase them.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741773/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_13.jpg)
When they duck through a wooden barrier, Spin to smash through. Jellyf will ask for your help and offer to lead you to the Water Dragon.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741774/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_14.jpg)
Follow them through the tunnel, Spinning to smash through any barriers. After the tunnel, there’s a bird statue on your right.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741605/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_3.png)
Your way out and several caves are blocked by breakable boulders.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741778/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_15.jpg)
Target the Froaks and attack with a Spin to knock them into the breakable boulders in this area. You’ll find a few treasures, and one will lead to the path out.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741606/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_4.png)
When you reach the gate, Spin Jump over it.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741780/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_16.jpg)
This might take a few tries to get the hang of. In the next area, follow Jellyf to the narrow gap and Spin Jump over that as well. You’ll land on solid ground.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741781/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_17.jpg)
Turn right (south), and follow the ledge around to find a Goddess Cube and an Amber Relic. Back at the bird statue, follow the path up to the chest on your left for a Goddess Plume.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741608/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_5.png)
Back in the water, follow Jellyf down into the tunnel and Spin Jump over the gate at the end. You’ll run into your first Cranioc here.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741783/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_18.jpg)
You job is just to Spin into the X-shaped scar on its (oversized) forehead.
Follow Jellyf through the gate their head unlocks.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741785/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_19.jpg)
Surface, climb onto the platform in the center of this part of the lake, and speak to the Water Dragon Faron.
Find Sacred Water
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741612/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_6.png)
Faron will ask you to “bring me the container of fresh sacred water” they require. Head for the exit in the northwest.
Before you get to the exit, Spin Jump out of the water to land on the ledge to the left of the door. Follow it southeast to find a chest with a silver rupee (100 rupees) inside.
Back at the exit tunnel, follow the ledge around to the right (east). There’s an Amber Relic and a chest with an Evil Crystal at the end.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741786/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_20.jpg)
Exit through the tunnel to return to Faron Woods.
Just to the left of the exit, look for some butterflies. Play your harp to reveal a Gossip Stone. Save at the Floria Waterfall bird statue.
Follow the trail to the right.
Faron Woods and Deep Woods
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741787/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_21.jpg)
Shove the log to open a shortcut, and then drop into the clearing to face the Moblin waiting for you.
Take the path on the right up the sandy ramp. Cross all the way to the northeast and head into the Deep Woods.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741788/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_22.jpg)
Keep heading toward Skyview Temple. Just before you get there, watch for more butterflies showing you where to find another Gossip Stone.
Continue down and handle the Moblin patrolling out front.
Head into Skyview Temple.
Skyview Temple
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741617/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_1.png)
Follow the tunnel down until you spot some more butterflies.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741789/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_23.jpg)
Play the Goddess’s Harp here to reveal a Goddess Wall.
Small Key
Crawl through the shortcut we opened earlier and into the next room. There’s a new lock on the door you need to get through. Head into the room on the right (east) side.
Drop into the water (you can go take out the Staldra if you want, but you don’t have to), and swim through the tunnel on the east wall. Climb the vines on the other side.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741791/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_24.jpg)
Dig in the spot at the other end of the tunnel to find the Small Key.
Go use it on the locked door.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741619/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_2.png)
Cross through the big round room heading north.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741793/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_25.jpg)
Use your Hook Beetle to bomb the two archer Bokoblins in the next room, and cross the tightrope. Make sure you save at the bird statue on the other side.
Three Stalfos
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741794/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_26.jpg)
In the next room, you’ll have to fight three Stalfos at the same time. Get some distance, and then place a bomb on the ground. Circle it to kite all three of them onto the bomb. When it explodes, their arms will fall off, and you’ll get a free attack or two.
Keep repeating that process until the door unlocks.
Skyview Spring
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741630/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_map_8.png)
Follow the path into Skyview Spring. When you reach the altar, follow your dowsing to the northwest.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741796/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_27.jpg)
Equip an empty bottle, and scoop some water from the waterfall there to get the Sacred Water you need.
Fi will take you outside. Now you can head back to Lake Floria. (It’s arguably faster to go to the sky, and then return to Faron Woods, landing at Floria Waterfall.)
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22741797/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Lake_Floria_28.jpg)
When you give the Sacred Water to Faron, they’ll take you outside to Floria Waterall, and reveal a doorway.
Head inside and follow the tunnel to the Ancient Cistern.
